Can I get one Hawaiian in a raft? Mahalos!
After work on Saturday, I headed down to Long Beach for a fun set with some kick-ass chicas at Sipology. It was incredibly chill, and I had a wonderful time!
Right after the show, we journeyed up to Bakersfield and spent the night. We headed toThe Junction right next door and was in for quite the treat! It was karaoke night and boy was it a sight to see. There were people dancing - not on stage, but on the floor to the people singing karaoke. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. It was nothing short of awesome. After a few beers (and a late-night Denny’s run) we stumbled back to our hotel to catch a wink of sleep before we had to wake up at 6am to head down to Kern for some white water rafting fun!
I was a little nervous going in to water raft. Okay, I was SUPER nervous going in. I’m not a solid swimmer - I’m probably the only person born on an island and unable to swim properly. And I wasn’t just white water rafting - I was category 4 white water rafting. There are six categories, and I was doing the 4. Didn’t know that going in.
Have you guys ever been on that Splash Mountain ride? Or that raft ride at Magic Mountain? That’s what I was thinking it was going to be like, silly me. But it turned out to be pretty intense - but hella fun. It had just enough of the ‘holy crap this is scary’ element - but not enough to totally stress you out. I’d definitely do it again…someday:).
